Grand Rapids Bird Removal Tip:

Do pigeons make good pets?

Pet lovers actually love the company of dogs and cats, until they have realized that the pigeons can also make good pets. A lot of pigeons have been in the hands of the animal rehabber for some time now and they were selectively bred and tamed, while they cannot survive in the wild or while they are in the process of preparation and training to be able to survive by themselves in the wild, they are kept in the animal shelter or rehabbing centers. However, there are interested adopters who would like to keep them, since pigeons are also good pets regardless if they are indoor and outdoor.

The rescued pigeons cannot fly safely, they can be a target of the cats and hawks, so when they are outdoors, they must be secured in an aviary. It must be predator proof with a durable and secure build all the way around the top to the bottom. There must also be a sheltered corner that will keep the place shady all the time, even on the hottest days and even during the rainiest days of the year. No one wants to have a small aviary, so if probable, you must make it big. The minimum size of the aviary with 4 birds may be at least 6x4 feet long and deep and then the height should be 6 feet as well.

Pigeons are good in leisure arts and they spend most of their time bathing, lounging under the sun, eating their favorite food, napping, sky watching and courting first and foremost. Pigeons mate every 4-5 weeks and they will lay eggs which must be changed with a fake egg if you want to control their birthing and then take turns sitting on them. They are very much devoted to their family and they mate for a lifetime. They need fresh food and water to live, the feces will be scraped daily, so you will not have a hard time cleaning up.

Cleaning must be cleaned weekly, so the feces will not pile up and will not be hardened. They are nice and beautiful to look at; they have a serene personality that is full of life. They can be friendly and tamed easily, it can be created with a charm. They are attractive and safe in the aviary that is meant for rescued pigeon. You can have the aviary indoor if there is enough space at home. They can live peacefully with the family. They just need to be in a bigger cage as a home. They are smart and easy going birds that will learn fast about your daily regimens and household routines. They can be unafraid, with the dogs and cats as long as they are kept safe.
